I rely on the accuracy of others to keep this page up to date and  I do not call the alleys or travel anywhere to maintain this page. There is no way for me to guarantee the information on this page. Please call the alleys at the number listed before you go there. This page is a courtesy to other Duckpin lovers.

PS) This site is only concerned with the original form of Duckpin bowling, which is over 100 years old, has approved regulations and is governed by the National Duckpin Bowling Congress.  

Please do not ask me to add alleys that are Rubberband Duckpins (different game) pins on strings or mini bowling which is found in bars and video arcades and the lanes are really short. Regulation Duckpin lanes are the same length as Ten pin lanes.

I made this page in 1997, when there were about 94 listings for Duckpin Alleys. It's now twelve years later, 2009. We've lost over 3 dozen bowling alley centers, there's only around 55-60 alleys left open.  It's an uphill battle. If you're lucky enough to still have Duckpins nearby, have fun and enjoy it while you can.

Not sure if you want to make a note of it on your site, but its a "members only" club, and they only open the lanes for special occassions for their members. You can't even get in to see the lanes unless you're a member. Needless to say, I wasn't able to bowl there. Thanks for keeping this site up. It's a wonderful resource.

For what it's worth, I thought I'd pass this along:
There's an additional Duckpin Bowling Alley in Baltimore I don't see listed on your website. First United Church UCC has a old-fashioned, hand-set three lane alley above the church from about the turn of the century. We've tried over the years to get a league started up, and have tried to do special events up there. The church is located at 1728 Eastern Avenue and the number is 443-691-9800. Contact Rev. David Flaherty for more information, especially if you'd like to add them to the website. Thanks!

Here is an update to one of your listings for Duckpin houses in North Carolina. I called the number listed on your website and a heating service answered the phone. They informed me that the owner died in April and that I should call "Ed" at 704-734-7616. I called Ed and found that he is running Mountain Lanes (I did not ask if he was owner or just the operator) but they do not have any open bowling at all. After labor day they have leagues on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Anyway, I thought I would pass along the info.

I was curious to know where duckpin bowling is located and reviewed your website.

Under the Virginia alleys, you have a line drawn through Evans Bowling Center in Kilmarnock, VA. Just wanted to let you know they are open. We bowled there last night and had lots of fun. The hours are limited, but usually open at 7:00 on Saturday nights. They have other nights during the week for more serious bowlers - not sure of the exact hours of operation.
