Thank you for visiting my pages. I would love it if you would
Add to this
guestbook!
This is my third year hosting a cookie exchange and infact this year I
thought about changing the theme to something else, but the ladies that I
usually invite wanted to know what I planned for this year and they all liked
the cookie exchange. I guess this will be a yearly event that we ladies look
forward to. I have enjoyed reviewing your website.
I am having my first cookie exchange this year and having about 10 people.
I noticed you recommend 6 dozen each. Do you think 3 - 4 dozen each will
be sufficient. Also, I am going to stress that the cookies are not too fancy
because we all have children and they like the basics. Will this work or
do you foresee any problems.
You are a woman after my own heart! I'm hosting my 15th Annual Christmas
Cookie Exchange this year! My tradition started (as a way to meet neighbors)
when we moved to MD from Saratoga Springs, NY in the mid-80s. I love it &
run mine the same as you. As I read your Rules, I couldn't help but think
"my sentiments exactly!" I encourage "holiday looking" cookies too. I can't
believe how some people think chocolate chips are a special holiday treat.
I've got a great recipe for you...New Zealand Holly cookies. They are a raspberry
filled cookie w/white icing & holly berries painted on top. - my all
time favorites. How about you? Do you have a favorite to share with me? I'd
love to send you a photo or two of my special event along with the recipe.
Would you be willing to share your address with me? If not, maybe I can get
a friend to show me how to use our scanner that has been sitting next to
the computer for six months!? Hope to hear from you soon, Robin. Happy Holidays!
Adrienne
I used to be involved in cookie exchanges and they have always been alot
of fun. I am trying to get one going here at work for all the ladies (the
guys can join us too) to get together. We seem to all be so busy, I thought
this would be a good thing for all of us. Usually, I organize a wreath making
class or old town shopping with lunch, but this might get more people involved.
We shall see! Thank you very much for the exchange rules (it's been so long,
I have forgotten), tips, and wonderful recipies. Wish me luck and Happy
Holidays!
What a wonderful site Robin! Thanks for all the ideas for Cookie Exchanges.
Great recipes. Will be back again. Gail
I saw your special last year on FoodTV and it inspired me to host my first
Cookie Exchange this year! Thank you for all of the great advise, you will
definately get the credit this year!
What a beautiful web site with custom graphics! And chocked full of info
for the cookie exchange enthusiast! Thanks a bunch, I was able to find a
recipe for the rice crispie wreaths on your site!
dear robin, I reaaly like your idea my all the mothers on my sons soccer
team have been looking for something like this. Now, we have found it . I'll
let you know how it goes.Have a good holiday. Kathy Reynolds
I love your ideas. My neighbors and I started a cookie swap several years
ago after seeing an article in Southern Living Magazine. Last year I used
your invitation rules to help "remind" people what was accepted. Good luck
with your 2000 swap.
I've had a cookie exchange since 1988, usually 25-35 ladies. I have an
elaborate brunch always on the second Saturday of December at 10:00. We're
finished by l:00 and they're free to go shopping. Several ladies have attended
every one and they always dress Christmasy to get us into the season. My
house is decorated for Christmas inside and out. My large dogwood tree in
the front yard even has cookies hanging from its limbs with colored ribbons
(these cookies are purchased butter cookies with a hole in them for the
ribbons--only purchased cookies allowed!) The birds love me for a few days!
I will not have a cookie exchange this year because I hope to be moving by
year's end from Virginia to Maryland, but look forward to starting one in
Annapolis for my new friends next year. My old friends in Virginia will also
be invited! I enjoy every minute of my hard labors and every year we talk
about next year!
Wow! Your website is TDF! I love it and thanks so much for making my first
Cookie Exchange planning a snap. I love to cook and bake and heard about
this wonderful idea. I'll let you know how it all turns out! Again, thanks
for all the wonderful tips! Sylvia Guenther

I'm starting a new tradition with my daughter this year to bake lots of
cookies. I look forward to trying the recipes you have featured.
Hosted my cookie exchange for 5 years.
What a wonderful site you have created. I sent it to 5 of my friends.
Great work! Thank you
I'm thinking about hosting my first cookie exchange this year - this site
has been great!
Last year was the first year I hosted a cookie exchange and we had a blast!
I organized my exchange a lot like you do (although I just found this website).
I gave out first, second and third prizes for the most creative cookie
containers. Some people got very creative and that just added to the fun.
I really enjoy this website and I will definitely return to use it as a
reference. Thanks!
I'm finally going to do it. Have my own Cookie Exchange. Have wanted to
do it for years, but didn't know exactly how to go about it. Thanks for your
informative web site detailing all I need to know. I'll eat a cookie (that
I didn't bake) for you! Regards, Lynne
I'm thinking about doing a cookie exchange for our office. I've done a
small one, but there may be up to 30 people participating. Thanks for the
input.
Just found this website - looking at hosting my first cookie swap. Thanks
for the great ideas.
Two years ago I was invited to my first cookie exchange, I had a great
time. Last year I decided to do it again, but two different parties. This
year I am hosting my own exchange party. When I saw your website address
in my new magazine I just had to check it out. I know now that my party will
be a big hit.
I am going to start a cookie exchange in my new neighborhood. Thanks for
all the great tips and helpful hints. Wish me luck!

I have wanted to do an cookie exchange party for years, now thanks to
your help It will become a reality. Thanks again. Carol
Great website Robin! I am hosting my first Christmas Cookie Exchange this
year after stumbling upon your website. People at work were grumbling about
the rules, so we're having Chocolate Chip Cookies. It's been interesting
to hear people's reactions when they hear that there are rules, but I told
them to relax and just have a great time! I'll let you know what happens....maybe
we'll even shoot some pictures! Happy holidays to you and yours from the
Great Southwest!
Really great. I hosted one a few years back and it was alot of fun, I
am going to do it again this year with all your helpful hint. I also liked
the ideas for the games there great to play while waiting for people to
come.
Hurray! I was so delighted to come upon your website. It was exactly what
I needed to get started on the perfect party for the holidays. I truely
appreciate all of your tips and information. Martha Stewart has nothing on
you girl! I will be planning my 3rd annual exchange this year and wanted
to make it special. Your site certainly has some great ideas and I admit
right now that I'm going to use the "rules" in my invite. I think it can
only make the festivities fun! Thanks again! Cat in CO.
Had my first cookie exchange last year. It was a blast. I followed you
suggestions. Everyone is looking forward to it again this year. And I am
looking forward to hosting it again!! Any suggestions to make it different
from last year? I had a catered light dinner buffet, I had everyone dress
in holiday attire and gave out prizes. We didn't have the best cookies- but
everyone had fun! Just looking for a different twist. By the way I did mine
on a week night and had a great turn out!!! Love to hear from you!
Thanks for the information. I want to have a cookie exchange this year
but didn't know exactly what should be included.
My daughter and I are having our second cookie exchange this year and
I wanted to share a fun project we do at our cookie exchange. We ask people
to also bring a candy for decorating and making graham cracker gingerbread
houses. They are so easy and I only have to worry about making the icing.
You do need to warm up the graham crackers for easy cutting, but it was a
hit at our last exchange.
Wonderful website!
This is a great site!! I am so excited to host my first cookie exchange
this year-- I'm going to give it a shot-- Thanks for all the
suggestions!!
Thank you for the helpful ideas. I will use some of these ideas in my
cookie swap this year. CSCotton
I found your website address in the Holiday Cakes & Cookies issue
of Family Circle. Not a magazine that I normally buy, but looked pretty
intriguing none the less. As I leafed through the pages, the Cookie Swap
section caught my eye. Although I've been involved in cookie exchanges before,
your tips on running a swap and sample invitations could certainly be the
beginning a new tradition in forming new friendships and maintaining old
ones especially during the busy holiday season. I particularly like the idea
about "No Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes". It keeps it creative and interesting.
Awesome website with great ideas.
Cannot believe I found a page that is about a cookie exchange. I want
to meet and get acquainted with my neighbors and thought this would be a
good way to do that as well as exchange holiday cookies and recipies. I will
let you know how it turns out. thanks for the ideas and inspiration. sharon

I really enjoyed your site. I am thinking about having a cookie exchange
this year but didn't know how to go about it. Your site was very informative.
Thanks. I'll be back.
Hi Robin. I just joined your e mail list. Look forward to future e mails.
I have a question. I have a home based business selling over 100 Theme Party
supplies on the internet. How did you get started with ListBot and is it
expensive? I need to find a way to market my web site that isn't real expensive.
I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks. Colleen Hefner.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your website. I have only hosted on cookie exchange,
years ago, while in graduate school. Now I am living on the other side of
the coutnry and desperately want to continue this tradition with my new friends.
