I really need to make some friends. I'm 53 yrs young and we moved here 2 years ago so I could finish school. I'm thinking of having a Cookie Exchange with ladies I know at church. I'm afraid they won't come. We live out in the country. Thanks for the great website. I read your article at the grocery store and that got me thinking.

I used your website last year to gain ideas to host my first cookie exchange. It was an awesome experience. I rented a presidential suite at a timeshare in Las Vegas and invited 9 friends to spend the weekend. We made our cookies in the unit - then celebrated later in the afternoon with 12 additional ladies. We played the right game and several others listed on the site. I plan to post last and this year's pictures the end of December. Today is November 4th, and I'm in the process of making minor changes to the invitation. They will go in the mail this week. Thanks again for sharing this marvelous idea!!!

I am hosting my Second Annual Cookie Swap this year. I have used your website both years to put together my swap. This is an event I have always wanted to do, but never got around to it until I bought my first house last year. I wanted to have an annual tradition in my new house. When I came across your website, I realized, with your help, I too could host a really fun swap! I so appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experience with this!!! One thing I do is: have each guest e-mail their recipe(s) to me when they RSVP. I then make a Cookie Swap Recipe Book for each participant.

Robin: For several years I wanted to have a cookie swap. But I didn't "bake". Finally two years ago I decided to take the plunge and began planning my party with some help from my 20 year old daughter. Lots of funny stories to tell about the planning but to make a long story short, my daughter had decided to give me a surprise 50th birthday party (Dec 14 is my birthday). I planned my party on top of her party. She had to send out invitations behind mine to tell everyone what she was doing. She had planned a party with a Hawaiian theme and of course mine was Christmas. Well, it was the best party ever and I was totally surprised. Especially since all my family lives 4 hours away. They were all there though. We still did the cookie exchange (and I got gifts!) and we said we would have another exchange next year. So 2006 was the second and now I'm looking forward to the third annual... I want to thank you for your website. I lifted lots of ideas from it for the first one and I love coming to it. Really, this site is probably what made me have the first one! THANKS! Connie

Hello I came upon your site by accident, while researching clipart for the parish newsletter. Thanks, your site is great. I'm with the American Womens Group here in Perthf Western Australia and our Cookie Exchanges are great. Though trying to bake in the hot weather doesn't lend to Yuletide feelings. However, some of your recipes sound wonderful, I can't wait to try them. Once again, keep up the good work. I am even have a Cookie Exchange with my Aussie friends. Ciao for now Luciana Bailey

Hi Robin: I just had my first annual cookie exchange yesterday, Dec 9th. It was such a hit with my family and friends and honestly I would have not been able to organize this event without your website and also your message board. What a great experience everyone had. I had 16 people for my first exchange and there was not one duplicate cookie due to me sending out your rule list. I just wanted to say thank you and that your website has created a tradition that I will have with my friends and family for years to come. I would love to send you pics so you can hopefully post them on your website. How do I go about sending them to you? Have a great holiday Robin. All the best - Allyson from NJ

Hi Robin Well we hosted our second swap on December 2, 2006. It was a great time. Everyone from last year came and we invited four more but only two accepted. It was a total of 12.My sister and I couldn't help afterward at being overcome with emotion as we realized we have started a family tradition. We have 5 girls between us and started the cookie swap last year looking to the future with them. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for all the info, and help with starting a lasting family tradition.

Robin, I stumbled across your website tonight, and got so excited! I have been hosting cookie exchanges for the past 12 years. They have grown from 8 to 10 for the first one, to between 30 to 35 ladies now. Talk about cookies all over your house, it looks like a real bakery. I learned right away to set up the rules, as you have, in order for the party to be a success. We even made our local newspaper one year,"The Tampa Tribune", with the story on how this event got started. Thanks for all the new ideas for this year's party on Dec. 20th.
