I just found your site today and love it. We are planning a family reunion/Christmas Party and wondered how a cookie exchange might work at a bigger event. There will be approximately 25 families. I'd like to make the exchange optional, as this would be the first. Do you have any suggestions?

This is really a neat idea. Maybe it would encourage some of us to get back to baking the old family recipes. After reading this, I see this as a challenge to try something like this next year. Sara Tamburrino Sara's Shop - Handcrafted Amish Baskets, Quilts, Etc. http://www.SarasShop.com

Robin, what a wonderful site you have here. I read about cookie exchange parties last year and instantly thought it was a fantastic idea. Since I had a new born in the house I decided to wait a year to have my first party. So, this Sunday I am having my first anural cookie exchange party and am expecting 12 ladies (maybe a few more who have yet to RSVP grrr LOL). I was really surprised about all of the excitement I have received from my girlfriends. Even those who are unable to make it this year were begging for an invite for next year. Woohoo! I have gotten so many wonderful ideas from your site and I thank you so much!! It has really helped me tons! So, wish me luck and I hope to be sharing some pictures and stories of my party. Again, thank you for this site. I'm sure it has taken lots of work and time to compile! Happy Holidays, Brenda Radder San Diego CA

I tried to host a Cookie Exchange Party and it was a bust; only 5 of the 12 women I invited attended my party last year. The others either told me they didn't bake or that it was a waste of time for them to bake a bunch of cookies. I felt horrible! Thankfully, I found your site and see that I'm not alone and that I'm not the only person out there that views baking as enjoying and not a chore! I hope other women are inspired to host their own parties and not let the

I own and operate Kids Station Daycare in Rolla, MO. This year we have planned a Christmas Cookie Exchange Party for the kids. The kids are so excited about baking and decorating cookies with their parents. Even a few grandmothers have volunteered to bake for our exchange. I will let you know how it goes. Of course, we will use this as a learning experience in measuring, counting, colors and sharing! Hopefully, these kids will continue to tradition of holiday baking and sharing with those we love.

Trying to host my first cookie exchange. My sister and I attended one last year that was fun, but was very disappointed in the so-called cookies. People came with those no-bake cookies, bars and stuff I cook for my Christmas baking anyways. I made so many cookies for that party and came away with nothing that I wanted to save for Christmas. Sooo, that's why I'm trying to do one for myself. I liked your rules, very practical. Thanks for the ideas. Connie
