Do you remember the 60's?

I was born in 1953. My 50th birthday is this April. Wow have I been reminiscing lately. I found Fizzies on Ebay and bought them for my 50th birthday party. Found Kenner Girder and Panel Building Set from the early 60's. now I'm looking for Vacuform by Mattel from the early 60's. Know where I can find one? I found new brightly colored aluminum drinking glasses just like in the 60's but with protective coating to prevent scratching of color with the terry cloth covers. I am also looking for a lead soldier mold making kit from the early 60's. Yes I played with lead as a kid, unhealthy but it was a blast. Email me if you know how to get hold of these things :-)

What memories lurk here!! Some things I'd forgotten - others better left unremembered! One mention I haven't come across yet is JONNY QUEST - the BEST cartoon ever made!! Then there were the GROOVIE GOOLIES! Until watching tapes of them recently, I didn't realize how much adult humor were in those two shows! They're still as great now as they were 30+ years ago! I'd also like to ask for some help...In the early '60's I remember having a small'ish "fashion" type doll, I'd say maybe 4-6" or so, hard plastic, and bald. She came with clothes, accessories, wigs, suitcases, wig cases, etc...that were a softer, flexible plastic and all one color - beige/tan (similar in color and texture to the clothes/accessories that came with the Marx Johnny West line). I seem to remember her box being a small rectangular one with a white top. Does anyone but me remember this doll or did I just dream it all up?! :-) Thanks SO much - for the info and the memories! Back in the mid-seventies my oldest sister received the 1968 Dancerina Doll. We all loved her and cherished her. I remembering bartering with my sib to get the doll and eventuall poor Dancerina was nothing but a head...well as of 1/21/03 I am in desperate search of her. I'm expecting my first child in April 2003 and I would love to have her share in the love and enjoyment of Dancerina. If anyone knows of one floating around out there with my unborn baby's heart, please let me know. Sabrina would love this doll as much as I still do. Colleen

Iam currently searching for a Toy Parachute Man. Apparently this was an action figure about 12" in height. From the 1960's. Possibly by Hasbro. The back opens and you would stuff the parachute inside the back of the man. Looking to buy for a gift. Please let me know.

Does anyone remember the Ideal Crissy family? The dolls hair could be shortened and lengthened. They were around 1969 to 1974. They had names such as Crissy, Velvet, Cinnamon, Kerry, Mia, Brandi, Dinna, Tressy and Cricket. I found Kerry recently at a yard sale and that started my collection. I think my husband thought I was silly cause when I found her I cried and he bought her for me. I now have all of these dolls and am glad to have relived my childhood a little. My daughter also enjoys playing with these dolls and I tell her they will be there for her when I go on. Great sight!

Hair growing Soap....remember Fuzzy Wuzzy Bear Soap? Well, this is about as close as we can get to it today. I believe I am the only distributor in the United States and that was just by coincidence, like many people I was in search of Fuzzy Wuzzy Bear Soap which was discontinued in the 60's. I eventually found a manufacturer in Europe and began importing it just to keep those memories alive! Visit www.webspawner.com/users/cozmoind and view the pictures.

I am going out of my head! Does anyone remember which SHAMPOO commercial from the 1960's had this Hawaiin or Pacific Islander combing her hair...with the announcer voicing over something about "The Secret of Coconut Oil"? I really thought that if I used this shampoo, my hair would become long, straight, and glossy!!!!!!! Boy was I clueless! Anyone who has the answer wins a package of (virtual) root beer-flavored Fizzies!!!!!! Thanks, in advance, Jill P.S. The purple and black, though pretty, does not provide enough contrast-- especially for those who are old enough to Remember the Sixties!!!!

Remember the Dog n' Suds? It used to be THE place to go on summer evenings when I was growing up on the south side of Chicago. All the "hot" cars hung out there. They always had beautiful carhops. I was smitten by one of them in 1966. When I got back from Vietnam and was discharged from the Marines she was still waiting for me and we were married in 1969 (and still married over 33 years later!). By the early mid-1970s they were pretty-much all gone from the Chicago area - too bad!
