Love your site. Found it while trying to find more information on a "Passion
Meter" I recently found in an antique/junk shop. The idea is to measure your
level of passion while holding the glass meter in your hand. Actually, it
is a series of stacked glass bulbs with a liquid in the bottom. The liquid
is supposed to pulsate to the top but there is a way to measure the passion
by how many bulbs the liquid rises through. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING
ABOUT. HELP! I need to know. Gail

I am really, really looking for a Remco Tricky Tommy Turtle for my mom's
birthday. This was, I guess, the toy that my grandmother never bought her,
and has made her life to this point incomplete. I'd ideally like to find
one in working condition (my mom is still a kid at heart) but in good display
condition would be great too. Please e-mail me if you have, or know where
I might find such a gem! Thanks in advance ~Ashley~

Winston tastes good like a cigarette should..or as kids sang circa 1966 "winston
tastes bad like the one I just had. no filter, no taste, just a 40 cent waste."
Wacky packages - who could get the most different ones and (sadly, from a
collector perspective) paste them on their looseleaf binder...finding a postcard
in my 6 year old handwriting addressed to "Catch Max" but never sent...a
kids show tv song called "Hi Mike" what show was that, and who was Mike....the
kids waving on Wonderama...the Wonderama dance contest...Sonny Fox - don't
cross in the middle of the block....it just goes on and on....

I don't remember the Name of this stuff but it was a putty that came in different
colors like blue, pink etc. You could form it into various shapes and stick
it on your wall. I would have peace signs, flowers, stars and others on the
wall of my bedroom. I sure wish I could remember the name

very cool site...bringing back alot of stuff in my mind. i'm remembering
a sunday morning cartoon that was on around the same time if not before david
and his talking dog goliath. this cartoon was of a character that was a centaur
and had a little sidekick that was a "pan" that had little horns and played
a pan flute. i remember tom terrific and his mighty wonder dog manfred that
was on capt. kangaroo. i always watched kookla, fran & ollie too. there
was a cartoon called kool mckool ? or something like that. one of my sisters
had gotten me this really neat thing for x-mas one year. it was a square
flat "disc" with rounded corners and had some sort of light/heat/touch sesitive
stuff inside, and when yoy looked at it while you "scribbled" with your fingers
on the pad of stuff inside, it made interesting patterns and images, etc...i
remember a candy called zotz! and another one called chick on a stick. there
was a liquid cocentrate like kool ade but was in glass bottles and was called
zarex. marathon bars...cool cartoons in the late fifties, early 60's...does
anyone remember clutch cargo? (with spinner & paddlefoot)? there was
a japanimation cartoon in the 60's that was practically identical to the
lion king, and that was called either kimba or simba. an orphaned white lion
cub being raised by the other animals in africa. had similar characteristics
to that of speed racer. i remember playing with all the other kids on the
street that all had SST's and the crash cars you kept crashing into each
other and put the pieces back on and do it again. i used to have a super
spirograph that my dad got for me one x-mas, and he played with it almost
more than i got to, and if there is anybody reading this that knows where
i can obtain one,i would be in your debt!!! i suddenly remembered everyone
used to have a tetherball in their back yard, and we used to play jarts (way
before they became dangerous) oh well, i gotta go...too many things come
to mind but this really is a great site to stumble upon. bye.

Some of my favorite toys of the 60's was my Lennon Sisters Paper Dolls kit
and Colorforms! Penny Candy was great for kids with very little money. We'd
buy Walnettos, Nik-L-Nips, red candy lipstick, candy necklaces, candy dots
on strips of paper, caramel Bullseyes, licorice "records", wafer flying saucers
with little candies inside, bubble gum cigars and and candy cigarettes that
really blew smoke! If I had a whole nickle I could get a Maple Bun candy
bar, Fizzies, Chuckles, Neccos or a Slo-Poke on a stick!
