Our Irish Genealogy

All on my husband's Maternal Side:
My husband's maternal great, great grandfather was Dennis Madden of County Cork, Ireland, born Dec. 1818 .  Dennis immigrated to the Chicago area in the mid 1800's. He died in Indiana in 1906. He was a major character.

There's also Dennis' mother Nora Donahue, born in Ireland in the late 1700's. Dennis' wife was Mary Elizabeth Jordan, which I have little information about.

Dennis' son in law (my hubby's great grandfather) was Abel Hare also from Irish ancestry.  I knew my husband's grandmother and she would talk of her father Abel often in her last years. Dennis Madden helped raise Gram as her mother died in childbirth with her.  Gram's name was Vida Belle Hare Parker. Gram was born in 1896 and she died in 1987.

Rev. John Meglamre is my husbands 6th great grandfather.
"Variant Meglamore, McClamory, McGlammery, Mcglamery"
John was born 2 Jun 1730 in Worcester County, Maryland and was christened May 1765 in Fishing Creek Church, Halifax County, North Carolina. He died 13 Dec 1799 in Southampton County, Virginia. Variant Meglamore, McClamory, McGlammery He married Leticia "Lettie" NELMS on 17 Oct 1756 in Northumberland County, VA

Rev. John was a well known Baptist Minister in the Colonial times and married hundreds of people. I've found several web pages that list him on it. Cool!
