Comments: I was playing around on the web and decided to type my name in, and surprise, I immediately got the Robin's Web website, sponsored by Robin L. Olson My maiden name in Flatt, and I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I experienced the 1971 earthquake but was lucky enough to miss the 1994 one. We would have been about five miles from the eqicenter, too. I graduated from San Diego State and taught HS in the 1970's down there. I then worked for Daily News of Los Angeles 1980-1990. My husband and I moved to Las Vegas in Dec. 1990. I am circulation director for USA Today newspaper in Southern Nevada. Happy to meet "another Robin L. Olson". (My middle name is Lee).

Comments: Dear Robin, Well, if you read my e-mail address, you will know why I came to your website. I had to alter the spelling to get the name I wanted to use. My parents raised me on this poem, Desiderata, since I was old enough to read. It has been my touch stone through all things in my life. I was very hapy to find a copy of it on the web, since I have just moved to the UK from America recently. In case you didn't know the history of this writing, there has been quite a controversy about its origin, as some say that it was NOT written by Max Ehrmann at all, but was originally found dated in the 1500's in the ruins of an abandoned Episcopal church, and he simply took the credit for it, as it was left anonymous. Regardless of the author, the words of this on writing have meant more to me than any religion I have ever studied. Thank you.

I am hosting a cookie exchange in Dec. because I just moved to the area and I thought it would be a good way to meet new friends...especially at work. My problem is that I didn't set any ground rules for the exchange except that all cookies had to be homemade and decorated nicely to give away. Now I have people bringing 'lemon bars' - big deal. I wanted Gingerbread men, rum balls, ...you know, Christmas cookies! I am sure that I can fix this for next year but I guess that I am stuck for this year. Robin, do you play any games when you host yours? I like the more creatvie earring contest. I too am giving prizes - nicest wrapped containers, first to RSVP, most effort. I really want this party to turn out well. Any ideas? Also, there are 9 people including myself. Do we make one dozen cookies for each person? I would really like some advise. Thanks, Denise
